Subject: Proposed Changes to Regulation 3.6 - Net Metering Service

On January 27, 2022, NS Power filed a General Rate Application with the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (UARB), which included a proposal for changes to Regulation 3.6 - Net Metering Service.
Subject to UARB approval, the proposed changes will introduce a System Access Charge applicable to customers who enroll in the Net Metering program as of February 1, 2022.
We wanted to share this information so customers considering the net metering program are aware of the proposed changes before they apply.
Please note that the proposed changes will not be applicable to customers enrolled in the Net Metering Program on or before January 31, 2022 for 25 years from the date the customer first interconnected their self-generation to the electrical grid.
