Wood Stoves/Pellet Stoves
I heard there is an incentive for wood stoves. How much is it?
You can receive a $200 rebate on the purchase and installation of a new EPA-certified wood stove or a new wood pellet stove.Ê
Who qualifies?Ê
This rebate applies to purchases on or after October 12, 2005. Original sales receipt required.
Homes equipped with EPA-certified wood appliances and/or wood pellet appliances purchased before October 12, 2005, do not qualify for this rebate.ÊÊ
What conditions apply?
The following conditions must be met to qualify for the rebate:
1.ÊÊ Wood heating appliance (appliance) is certified to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards.
2. The appliance is installed according to the manufacturers installation instructions and CSA code B-365, preferably by a WETT (Wood Energy Technical Training) certified installer.
3. You are the registered owner of the household where the appliance is installed.
4. The appliance is new, was purchased between October 12, 2005 and August 31, 2007, and the original receipt is included with the application.
5. You agree to a random inspection/audit by the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, its agents or auditors (including WET-NS) in the household where the appliance is installed.

Do the income eligibility levels apply to the wood/pellet stove rebate and/or the solar water-heating systems?
No, anyone qualifies for these rebates, provided the purchase was made after October 12, 2005 and you still have your original sales receipts.
